www.cappex.com is a new website that allows you to see which colleges are interested in you BEFORE you apply! The site is free and easy to use. Simply complete your personal profile and go! There is also a wonderful "What are my chances?" Calculator, a powerful tool that you and your counselor can use to find out your chances of being admitted to almost any college in the country!
www.collegeboard.com Known for their administration of the SATs, The College Board web site is an EXCELLENT repository of many reports and articles related to testing, as well as the opportunities for on-line registration and score reporting. In addition, there is SAT preparation information, and an college search engine.
This site is one of the most comprehensive I've seen ANYWHERE. There is an answer to every question you could possibly think of, and it's structured in an easy to access format. There are articles, experts answering personal questions, and a chat post. Find information about any major; any college; and personal opinions by other students and parents.
One of my students told me about this web site recently, and I think it's great. There is a college search
engine similar to others, but then there is a "calculator" which evaluates your chances of being admitted to a particular school. There is also a place for you to store your favorite schools, your scholarships, and interesting articles (There are a plethora of them there--great SAT word ).

A very comprehensive site which tells you everything you would want to know about a particular college. Just type the name into the search, and continue.
www.Zinch.com helps you prepare for the college admissions process. Prepare a home page (similar to face book), that colleges can peruse--and they will recruit you based on your profile. Invite your counselor to take a look before you publish--AND use the
website to do a preliminary college search.

Free test prep program. Designed in conjunction with The Princeton Review, there is an assessment portion, practice drills and specific lessons. Cumulative evaluations are given at the mid-point in the program and at the end to measures progress. Feedback is provided regularly, and test-taking strategies are given as well.

The U.S. Department of Education recently launched a Web site, www.College.gov, aimed at motivating
students to go to college. The site, which features video testimonials from students, includes links to
statistics about how much more money college graduates earn, pointers on how to find academic
and financial support and a customizable checklist of steps for students to take.
