Dear Westhill Families,

As we all move toward a very well-deserved hiatus, here is what you need to know before we welcome the long weekend and Spring Break:

Holiday Wishes and Spring Break

With school closed tomorrow, Friday, April 3rd, for the start of the holiday weekend and continuing through next week for Spring Break, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the diverse celebrations within our community.

  • Happy Passover: To all our families beginning their Seder meals and observances this weekend, we wish you a meaningful and joyous Passover.
  • Happy Easter: To those celebrating on Sunday, we wish you a beautiful and peaceful Easter holiday.
  • Spring Break: To every student, parent and faculty member, I hope this coming week provides a much-needed opportunity to unplug, relax, and enjoy the budding spring weather.

Campus Update:

When we return from break the "New Westhill" footprint will officially be active.

  • Safety Reminder: As a final reminder before the break, please reiterate to your students that the construction zones are strictly off-limits. We want everyone to return safely on Monday, April 13th.
  • Student Parking: As of this writing on campus student parking is still prohibited. That said, a possible solution to this issue may be on the horizon. Stay tuned and fingers crossed Vikings.

Looking Ahead: Q4 and Beyond

When we return on April 13th, we will be hitting the ground running for the final stretch of the school year.

  • Final Curtain Call: Mark your calendars for Seussical the Musical, opening Friday, April 17th! It is the perfect way to kick off our post-break return.
  • Academic Refocus: Quarter 4 begins the moment we return. Let’s use this break to rest so we can finish the year with the same "Viking Commitment" we’ve demonstrated all

We are building a new physical home for Westhill, but the heart of this school remains the people inside it. Thank you for your patience and support during this monumental week.

Have a safe, restful, and wonderful Spring Break, Vikings!

With immense gratitude,

Principal Rinaldi and your Westhill Administrators

Student Restrooms:

Please be assured that there are ample restrooms available to our students throughout the day. For safety reasons however student restrooms are locked at the end of each school day and then reopened by security once the next school day begins. For safety reasons during our lunch waves student restrooms located near classrooms are closed off to students while restrooms adjacent to our cafeterias are open for use. If your child should express any concern regarding the availability of student restrooms, please reach out to your child’s grade level assistant principal for assistance.

Steven Angelo, Department Leader for Special Education:

  • I would like to shout out our specialized programming teachers for successfully running many functional and real life activities for our students. Our CORE programing began running their morning cafe making breakfast sandwiches and delivering them around the school. Our Family Foods students are off to a great start with the Viking Cafe making and delivering delicious lunches!!
  • I would also like to remind parents and guardians about the importance of consent forms for initial evaluations and triennial reviews. These forms allow our team to determine eligibility for special education. Special Education teachers will send home or email home any forms that are unsigned.
  • If you have any questions you can reach out to me at sangelo@stamfordpublicschools.org

Have a Great Week Vikings!
