Student Restrooms:

Please be assured that there are ample restrooms available to our students throughout the day. For safety reasons however student restrooms are locked at the end of each school day and then reopened by security once the next school day begins. For safety reasons during our lunch waves student restrooms located near classrooms are closed off to students while restrooms adjacent to our cafeterias are open for use. If your child should express any concern regarding the availability of student restrooms, please reach out to your child’s grade level assistant principal for assistance.

Application Criteria
To be eligible for the Stamford Rotary Scholarship, you must be a graduating high school senior residing in Stamford, CT, and demonstrate a strong commitment to improving the quality of life for people in your school, community and/or the world at large. Eligible students must be entering post-secondary school in Summer or Fall 2024.

Proof of Stamford residency
Minimum 3.5 GPA, high school transcript required
Community Service Hours (Interact hours count)
Essay Question: “How has community service changed your outlook about society?” (No more than 2 pages)

NGSS Assessments:

11th-grade students, NGSS day is approaching! It will be held on Tuesday, April 30th, 2024. On this day, 11th-grade students are required to report to school at the regular school time. However, all other students will have a 3-hour delayed arrival to school. Please note that the buses will also operate on a 3-hour delay. To avoid any confusion, we will follow a modified 3-hour delayed opening schedule. This means that we will drop Blocks 1A & 2A and run Blocks 3A & 4A.

Make sure students register for all classes they are interested in and contact cquattrocchi@stamfordct.gov with any questions.

Physical Education Classes - Laced sneakers are required for all PE classes - no Crocs, slides, flip-flops, slippers, boots, UGGS, bare feet or anything that is not a laced sneaker. This is a safety regulation and students will not be able to participate or pass PE class if they do not comply. Here is a link to the PE Policy. Check PowerSchool for your child’s teacher.

***If your child is injured or otherwise medically not permitted to participate in PE, you need to send a note from the doctor to the school nurse and the student’s counselor.

Health Classes All freshmen will be transitioning from their PE class to Health 1 for Semester 2. Here is a link to the Health 1 Syllabus which includes all the staff contact information. Check PowerSchool for your child’s teacher.

AM Basketball/Soccer Intramurals! - Mr.Lamour and Mrs. Malloy from the PE department are running AM Basketball/Soccer intramurals for those students wishing to play. It runs from 6:40 am-7:20 am Mondays-Fridays from September 11th-May 31. Currently this is open to all but we will have to restrict or have sign ups if there becomes too many. Enter through the exterior door to the main gym from outside across from the main stadium. Students will be required to sign-in daily. Any questions email cquattrocchi@stamfordct.gov

PM Fitness Center Intramurals/Fit Club - The Fitness Center is open to all students after school from 2:20-3:20 every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from September 11-May 30. Ms.Birch, Mr. Mulvany, Mr. Nieves & Mr. Thompson from our PE staff will be there to assist with fitness routines and equipment instruction. The Daughters of the American Revolution is an organization with a deeply rich history while also being truly relevant in today’s world. More than 1,000,000 women have joined the organization since it was founded over 125 years ago. They became members to honor their heritage as well as make a difference in their communities across the country and the world. The DAR sponsored two contests: the Good Citizenship Award and an essay contest. The essay contest prompt was: Select a figure from the era of the American Revolution (1773-1783). Discuss how he or she influenced the course

of the American Revolution, who he or she was and his/her contribution to the founding of a new nation. Your figure may be any person, whether a well-known figure or an everyday man, woman or

child who supported the American Revolution in ways large or small.

Mastery Based Learning

Mastery-based learning is to ensure that a student has acquired the knowledge and skills that are deemed to be essential to success in every postsecondary - college and career environment and in adult life. Students will receive one credit upon successful demonstration of subject-matter content mastery achieved through educational experiences and opportunities that provide flexible and multiple pathways to learning.

All seniors will have Mastery Based Learning added to their schedule, this is not a course they will attend. It is a placeholder for a grade. Once documentation has been verified a Passing grade will be added on PowerSchool. This is a graduation requirement. Deadline to submit Mastery Based Learning is April 22, 2024

You will need to fill out this MBL and upload your documentation to show you have completed the option you picked, i.e., a letter on official letterhead from your place of employment/volunteer or a certificate of recognition for options like FCIAC or competition you participated in. You must upload your plan if you decide to do a student-designed project. Please keep in mind that your project must be tied to standards. Did you know that the Westhill FFA Program maintains a small farm on campus that includes a flock of 17 chickens? Aprendizaje basado en el dominio

El aprendizaje basado en el dominio tiene como objetivo garantizar que un estudiante haya adquirido los conocimientos y habilidades que se consideran esenciales para el éxito en cada entorno postsecundario, universitario y profesional y en la vida adulta. Los estudiantes recibirán un crédito tras una demostración exitosa del dominio del contenido de la materia logrado a través de experiencias y oportunidades educativas que brindan múltiples y flexibles vías de aprendizaje.

A todos los estudiantes del último año se les agrega el aprendizaje basado en el dominio a su horario; este no es un curso al que asistirán. Es un marcador de posición para una calificación. Una vez que se haya verificado la documentación, se agregará una calificación aprobatoria en PowerSchool. Este es un requisito de graduación. La fecha límite para enviar el aprendizaje basado en el dominio es el 22 de abril de 2024

Deberá completar este MBL y cargar su documentación para demostrar que ha completado la opción que eligió, es decir, una carta con membrete oficial de su lugar de empleo/voluntario o un certificado de reconocimiento de opciones como FCIAC o competencia en la que participó. Debes subir tu plan si decides hacer un proyecto diseñado por un estudiante. Tenga en cuenta que su proyecto debe estar sujeto a estándares. Venta de huevos del programa Westhill Agriscience

¿Sabía que el programa Westhill FFA mantiene una pequeña granja en el campus que incluye una bandada de 17 pollos? Recolectamos más de una docena de huevos cada día y los vendemos a la comunidad de Westhill. Los huevos cuestan $8 la docena. Aceptamos efectivo o tarjeta. Puede comprar huevos los martes y jueves de 2:05 a 2:45 p. m. en el edificio Agriscience.
