Who? ALL 10th and 11th grade students *ALL 9th and 12th grade students will have a delayed arrival to school.*

What? You will be taking the PSAT, paid for by the State of CT

When? Wednesday, October 12th at 7:30 AM

Where? Classroom assignments will be sent to your email as we get closer to the date

Why? 11th grade students this can help you qualify for scholarships; 10th grade students this is good practice for next year

More information will be provided as we get closer to the test date.

Mayor's Youth Leadership Council (MYLC)

The Mayor's Youth Leadership Council (MYLC)  will be handing out information Thursday 9/29  during all the lunch waves. It will include Yellow Awareness Ribbons and information on Suicide Prevention (see attached.)  MYLC is s student led social activism club that focuses on 3 topics: Mental Health, Sexual Harassment and Suicide Prevention.  The Club is student led and creates all of the content.  Our Executive Leaders are Mila Prakapenka, Kayla Williamson, Vivian Mendoza, Arleny Flores, Maya Snead,  Arleny Flores, and Fatima Bane.

MARCUS FOR CHANGE 5K WALK & RUN

Join us Sunday, October 23, 2022 as we celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the MarcUS for Change 5K Walk & Run. Students, educators, parents, and community members will all run (or walk) to celebrate the life and memory of Marcus Dixon McInerney, a Stamford High School graduate who overcame many life challenges to attend West Point Academy before his life ended tragically in 2012.

  • On-site Registration begins at 8 a.m. Mill River Park, Stamford (rain or shine!)

ATHLETIC TICKET SALES GO ONLINE

Good afternoon Viking Country. Please be aware that beginning with this fall season, all athletic tickets must be purchased online through Ticket Spicket.  There will be no cash sales at the gate.  The link to the Westhill ticket site is below. The Ticket Spicket app is available on both Apple’s Apple Play and Google’s Google Play.  

Admission is currently charged at all home football and boys basketball games, as well as FCIAC and state tournament contests.  All tickets for regular season games are $5.00.  Children 10 and under are free.  And as has been our policy for the last 5 years, all current Westhill students are free with a current school ID.  Individuals may also buy a season pass (one ticket to each of the 5 home games) for $20.00, a $5.00 savings.  The link is also available on the athletics website westhillathletics.org

We are happy to announce that Open House will be an in-person event this year on Thursday, September 22nd!  We will begin promptly at 6:00 pm in the auditorium with welcoming remarks from Principal Michael Rinaldi.  Upon conclusion of the welcome address, parents are encouraged to follow their child’s schedule to attend brief presentations by the Westhill faculty in each of their classes.  More details are coming. 

In the meantime, parents can access their child’s schedule using the Parent Portal in PowerSchoolIf you do not have access to Parent Portal please contact Giselle Robalino at  grobalino@stamfordct.gov or by calling 203.977.5532 for assistance.

Assistance with accessing the PowerSchool parent portal (English and Spanish) will also be available in the main lobby during open house.

 

¡Somos felices a anunciar que Open House será un evento en persona este año, Jueves, el 22 de septiembre! Comenzaremos puntualmente a las 6:00 pm en el auditorio con un bienvenidos del director Michael Rinaldi. Starting Monday 9/12/22 the Fitness Center will be open to all students after school from 2:20-3:20 every Monday and Friday. Additional days may be added in a few weeks based on student interest. PE staff will be there to assist with fitness routines and equipment instruction.No experience is necessary - bring water, bring a friend and get fit!

On Thursday and Friday we are having an Activities/Clubs fair in the courtyard during period 3. If you are a part of a club and want to promote and recruit members for your club then you need to email Mr. Pazmino so you can have a table at the fair. If you want to join a club then this is your chance.

A backpack with food

Westhill teachers and staff run Project Backpack.  This program works in conjunction with the Fill-in-the-Blanks program.  Project Backpack is aimed at assisting the children in this school who are food-insecure to have the essentials all school children need.  This includes, but is not limited to: school supplies, toiletries, snacks, and, grocery store gift cards.  If you would ever like to assist or contribute to this program, you can always do so!  We welcome parent and community support.  You can either donate directly to the school or via the Donors Choose website.

How to donate on the Donors Choose Website & Items the kids are currently in need of:

  • When visiting the Donors Choose website first search “Westhill high school”
  • then find projects posted by Dr. Jennifer Migiano/Mindy Midy. 
  • Every project for the children in Project Backpack will have the Project backpack in the title.
