Meet Our Guest Speaker: Emmanuel Ozuruonye Scientist I'm an African-American Biotech scientist with 6+ years of experience advancing antibody discovery. My STEM story began in Nigeria, West Africa where I developed interest in Agricultural Science in secondary school. As an adolescent, my grandmother farmed our lands and reared farm animals so I naturally gravitated towards and enjoyed "Agric" class as we informally called it. I did well in the class thanks to my farming experience which served as a personal elaborate lab component of my Agric classes. After the wind of immigration blew me to the United States, my interest in Life Sciences only bolstered and led me through several science labs and research programs all through my undergraduate and graduate education, and further into a full-time career in biotech and drug discovery. It has been a rewarding experience making a real impact in real people's lives right from my lab bench in a remarkable institution such as Regeneron, and I'm glad to share these experiences with you students.

What is Regeneron? Regenron is a leading biotechnology company that invents, develops and commercializes life-transforming medicines for people with serious diseases. Founded and led by physician-scientists, our unique ability to repeatedly and consistently translate science into medicine has led to numerous approved treatments and product candidates in development, almost all of which were homegrown in our laboratories. Regeneron's medicines and pipeline are designed to help patients with eye diseases, allergic and inflammatory diseases, cancer, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, neurological diseases, hematologic conditions, infectious diseases and rare diseases.

What is the Scientists to Classrooms program? The Scientists to Classrooms program connects classrooms with Regeneron scientists to provide STEM role models to students by exposing them to new career stories, STEM research, and scientists of diverse backgrounds and experiences.
