Sean Otterspoor

Dear Class of 2026 Students and Families:

We will be hosting the unpaid spring Senior Internship Experience (SIE) sponsored by the Mayor’s Youth Leadership Bureau for the Class of 2026.

The SIE is an unpaid program that enables students to gain work experience in areas of career interest before graduating from high school. Completing the SIE can count toward the Mastery-Based Learning Assessment graduation requirement.

The 2025-26 SIE will be 3 weeks after AP testing from Monday, May 18th, through Friday, June 5th.  Program requirements for students who want to participate in the Spring 2026 SIE program are:

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
  • Must meet grade, attendance, and behavior requirements of senior year
  • Must not have failed or be in danger of failing any senior year course (this includes Physical Education)
  • Must be meeting all graduation requirements
  • Must complete mandatory workplace safety education
  • Must complete the Senior Graduation Survey
  • SIE participation subject to review and approval from parent/guardian, school counselor, principal, and SIE Coordinator
