College Decision Day

May 1st marked a particularly special College Decision Day at Westhill High School, as News 12 joined in celebrating the remarkable achievements of two exceptional seniors. In an impressive testament to their hard work and dedication, Sahil Salihnur and Katelin Zhao have both committed to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Their acceptance into MIT, which boasted a highly competitive early action acceptance rate of just 5%, underscores their outstanding academic prowess and potential. News 12 had the opportunity to speak with Mr. Capriotti and Mr. Sarkar on behalf of these students.

“If you put your mind to it," Zhao says. "You can do anything you want." While they aren't the first Westhill students to be accepted into MIT, it is the first time two students from the same class have been accepted there. “It feels like my hard work actually paid off," Salihnur says.

This rounded out the I Have a Plan Day, celebrating all of our seniors who will be transitioning to 4 year, 2 year, trade, or military options next year.
