Video: Westhill World Language Honor Society and Seal of Biliteracy Ceremony
Sean Otterspoor

The World Language National Honor Society induct juniors and seniors who have an overall GPA of 3.0 and no less than an A- in all of their language courses.  This year, we are inducting 33 outstanding language students who have met those criteria in French, Italian, or Spanish..

The Seal of Biliteracy is a national movement that acknowledges the importance of being biliterate in our global society. The 81 seniors who have earned this honor have proven themselves literate in not only English but another language as well.  All have tested successfully in the non-English language in all four language skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing.  They will wear their medals at graduation, and their diploma will bear a sticker that indicates their biliteracy.  In addition, their transcript will note this as well.  This distinction sets them apart in both the workplace and post-secondary institutions.

Westhill's World Language Department is extremely proud of their accomplishments and wishes them well in their future endeavors.
