Spanish National Honor Society

  • Description: The mission of the Spanish National Honor Society is to recognize high school achievement in Spanish and Portuguese and to promote interest in Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian studies. Established in 1953, the society is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. It aims to honor students who have demonstrated excellence in their study of the Spanish and Portuguese languages and to encourage a continued interest in the cultures of the Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian worlds.   • Age Requirements: No Age Requirements
  • Grade Requirement: Students must be at least in 11th grade
  • GPA Requirement: Members are inducted in May based upon excellence in Spanish and overall GPA.
  • Additional Requirements: Students must be enrolled in Spanish level 3 or higher. Members must complete 10 hours of community service that benefits the Latinx community prior to Spring internship in order to be in good standing. There is a $5 non refundable dues charge to be added to the National register
