2024 Photo Days

Ms Tobin and I wanted to send out a friendly reminder to you all about photo days next week. They will be taken in the auditorium ALL day on Tuesday, September 3rd and Wednesday, September 4th. And, as such, we will be making announcements all day reminding the children, so please try your best to ignore our loud voices and we are also sorry about the disturbance but we NEED to get these done!

The 2024 Schedule is as follows:

TUESDAY 9/3/24: ALL THE FRESHMEN, and ALL the SOPHOMORES WITH LAST NAMES A-K (their last name per Powerschool) will take their pictures.
WEDNESDAY 9/4/24: ALL SOPHOMORES with LAST NAMES L-Z (their last name per Powerschool), and ALL THE JUNIORS will take their pictures.

A half hour time frame is assigned to every student throughout the day, the schedule is attached and they will be receiving this schedule in their email as well!

All students should first report to your class, so you can take attendance and their phones, and then they can come down when it is their turn, we will try our best to get them in and out as fast as possible!

Any teachers that want to give up their prep period on either day to come help, please let me know which day (or days!) and period (or periods!) ASAP, it would be greatly appreciated, and we will give you a free yearbook from last year or this year (who doesn't LOVE free stuff)! You must give us your FULL prep period, and it's a LOT of noise, confusion, and work.

ORDER MY PHOTOS

I am in grades 9, 10, or 11, I went to the auditorium and had my photo taken last week, and I want to PURCHASE a photo package!

You can see/view your photos on the Photography by Roman website starting on Monday 9/18/23, and you can purchase photo package their (after viewing your photo) through Friday 9/29/23.

MAKE-UP PHOTO DAY

I am in grades 9, 10, or 11 and I did NOT have my yearbook/ID card photo taken yet.

You can go to the auditorium ANY PERIOD on Thursday 10/5/23 (it’s an A day) to take a photo. Ask your teacher, and you will only be gone for a few minutes (not the whole class period).

RETAKE MY PHOTO

Can I retake my photo, that I took on 9/7 or 9/8 in the auditorium?

If you don’t like the photo you DID take on 9/7 or 9/8 and want to retake your photo, you can do so but you must purchase a photo package first. Retakes are not free. See flier attached to this email.

I WANT AN ID CARD BUT I DON’T WANT MY PHOTO IN THE YEARBOOK

I don’t want my school portrait in the yearbook.

Your parent/guardian must email ktobin@stamfordct.gov by October 15 giving me permission to leave you out of the yearbook. It’s not enough for a student to want to be excluded – parent/guardian must say it is okay.

THIS SCHOOL DOESN’T SPELL MY NAME RIGHT

My name isn’t correctly spelled, or capitalized, or isn’t my correct name in Powerschool.

Powerschool is where Yearbook gets all our name spellings from. If your name is incorrect in Powerschool, it was entered incorrectly when you registered for school, OR, it has changed since then. To get it fixed in Powerschool (and therefore the Yearbook), email whsyearbook@stamfordpublicschools.org with subject line “Name is wrong” and EXPLAIN CLEARLY what the issue with your name is. Do so IMMEDIATELY, and no later than October 31^st.

I DON’T WANT MY DEADNAME TO APPEAR IN THE YEARBOOK/ON MY ID CARD

I have a deadname that I do not use, and want my name/pronouns changed for the yearbook.

Yearbook wants to make sure we refer to you by your correct name and pronouns. If your name is not what appeared in Powerschool at the start of this year (from the first day of school), and your pronouns are not the she/her/hers or he/him/his as assigned at birth, please email whsyearbook@stamfordpublicschools.org so we can honor who you are in our shared Yearbook.

NOTE: You may want to change your name in the yearbook, but not on your ID card, if you will need to use your ID card for legal identification and have not legally changed your name yet.

Seniors: As a reminder, you take a Senior Portrait this year like the ones above. You have a choice of wearing the cap/gown, the tuxedo, or the black drape. ANY GENDER CAN WEAR ANY OUTFIT. What you need to know: To take a photo, you need to MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. See below. The outfits are provided by the photographer. Worry about your hair, make-up, jewelry, and what you are going to wear UNDER the provided outfit. *YOU MUST MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO TAKE YOUR PHOTO! See below.*

NEVER TOOK MY PHOTOS OVER THE SUMMER/AM NEW TO WESTHILL I never took a senior portrait. We were supposed to do that already? (Yes. Yes you were.)	There are 3 dates left in October. To MAKE AN APPOINTMENT, go to https://www.photographybyroman.net/ and then... Click on "SENIORS." Scroll down and click on the red "BOOK NOW!" button. From the drop-down menu pick your Location (WESTHILL CAMERA 2). Pick your session type. There are two types: "Yearbook Only" lets you take ONE free photo to be included in the yearbook (no other choices), "Basic Senior Session" lets you take 6-7 photos for $35 that you will then be able to select from for your yearbook pose (and you can order more copies of any of those photos). Then scroll down to the October dates and click the date/time you want. THEN you will be asked to make a User account. MAKE ONE. Any issues, call Photography by Roman, at 203-922-8040, or see Ms. Tobin in 432 or Ms. Tintle in 405.
TOOK MY PHOTOS OVER THE SUMMER, WANT TO DO A RETAKE	Same directions as above, EXCEPT RETAKES AREN’T FREE. You MUST choose the $35 option, and bring the money to the session.
